Amarkantak: king of pilgrimage

Amarkantak is a hill station pilgrim which comes under Anuppur District in M.P. Amarkantak  is situated on the Maikal mountain range which linked the Vindhyachal and Satpura mountain range. Amarkantak lies at the height 3500 ft.
Amarkantak is a unique place, it is  source of river Narmada, Sone, Johila and  Bhadra River which is considered to be holiest and purest river. Amarkantak is a hill station with wonderful weather. Amarkantak is surrounded by the rich variation of flora with medicinal property.



 

The place of  Narmada origin is also known as Narmada Udgam.There is open pool called Narmada Kund. Around the kund, lots of temples are there. It is believed that shiv ling occurred naturally and ones in a  month Narmada river graces here and pay her respect to lord shiv.

Sone river is around 2km far from Narmada temple The location is awesome, and it is famous for a sunrise point.

Jadeshwar Temple is around 8km from a Narmada temple.This temple is situated at the origin of  Johila River. According to the mythology, Lord Shiva himself established a shiva linga here and scattered lakhs of shiv linga over Maikal Mountain. This is also Known as Maha Rudra Meru. There is only two Maha Rudra Meru Amarkantak  and Varanasi. Sunset point is very close to the temple.
 One more famous place is Kabir Chabutra, which held lots of attraction. Kabir Chabutra is around 5km from Narmada Temple. It is said that Sant Kabir Meditated at the place and achieved attainment hear. As per the localities, a Narmada river washes the feet of Sant Kabir.
